Unfair License Fee!Tattoo parlors are typically small, employee free operations. Some only have one person working. Why is one of the largest fees slapped on some of the smallest business? San Francisco Business License List I have two front doors to my business location. 3234 16th Street and 3242 16th Street. I have two of hese license fees to pay. In addition, I also pay the city for a retail permit for body jewelry sales (along with sales tax). If the city determined this fee considereing it as the only contribution from tattoo parlors, they did not consider that some "tattoo parlors" do not even offer the service of tattoo. Piercing studios (defined as tattoo parlors) creat additional city revenue with property assesment, employee taxes, sales tax, and retail permit. 3242 16th Street operates only as a tattoo parlor.
